It was no traditional field of sullen silence or random forest to be destroyed through combat. Not some warehouse or any archetypal alleyway for a jumping. No, Roan had come seeking his target Ghoul today to add to his collection of Quinque. His first kill he had not been able to recover the body to make a weapon from. His second granted him such a weapon, and he intended to make his third kill offer him the same. He had come to a public park, quite deliberately entering on the side nearest to the kiddie equipment, wearing a false smile and casual gait to avoid suspicion among the innocents and to avoid raising the alarm from the Ghoul of the hunt.

Roan appeared now as a stern faced blonde with some formal clothing that was a strange shade of black to appear nearly dark red, or was it merely appearing black through such a deep dark red? It mattered less and less as Roan closed the distance to the end of his long hunt of checking and stalking. Roan's world became smaller and smaller, balanced by himself and his clutched briefcase becoming bigger. He had followed up on the patterns and he had seen the work of the Ghoul too many times to doubt his reasoning for picking this park. As much as he liked to believe he had gone through some "A Beautiful Mind" workshop of putting clues together with strings, Roan had mostly found this likely Ghoul location and the connection to a recent feeding nearby through a chance tip that came his way first. Being the ever confident and always eager to prove his worth, Roan had not been able to resist coming alone to prove that he was capable of such. His first Quinque, the common thick Bikaku type felt familiar enough for the job as it had rarely left his hand since it's creation. If and once activated, the Quinque would become a thick and wide blade that stretched up to one and a half meters in length, with a serrated edge of glowing red as a result of the RC cells.

The moment would indeed come at hand here, though by what Ghoul and if it was the hunter was unclear at the moment. A ghoul had sent for him, or lured him, and he knew. The excitement gave him adrenaline to fuel his body, and the adrenaline gave him a tweak that made him noticeable. His fancy clothes, his rugged blonde patches, his briefcase screaming Quinque and his associating with the children around. The lure was in himself, and the trap was in the children. It granted Roan a win-win, if you will. If he was attacked it would be extremely public and as a result the Ghoul would have no chance at a long term win. If he was lured away he got his chance against the Ghoul as of course such a lure was expected. If nothing happened, Roan got to live easily through another day. Such confidence inspired Roan in spite of his adrenaline and nervousness, bringing his mind to survival and the human power within through the waiting.

The sea of clouds floats above the cities and the Earth in tranquility as the voices of the people within every corner drifted along their winds. The sound of children became most promising as they cheered, cried, and awed to the making of new memories. A man in a trench coat carrying a briefcase taking a stroll seemed quite stoic for the scenery of the park filled with livelihood, that is what caught the attention of a young female. Her eye pitched as ember as she casually sat on a bench across from the playground where the children played. She sat there stoic herself with a small novel in one hand titled "The Massacre" by Allen Roy. Her exposed eye seemed to have wondered to child to man, especially that man, where she found herself having a bit of anxiousness building up inside. Her a line bob cut covered her right eye and disguised her mechanical eyepatch that expanded outward onto her head like headphones. She kept her distance from the man as she knew ahead of time her trail would be picked up. Her mind raced with plans on getting rid of the individual once and for all just like the last ones. Just the sheer thought of her past kills brought a corrosive smirk upon her lips.

'Waah! I can't find mommy!!', cried a small child abruptly. The woman sitting on the bench took a great reaction on herself to get off her ass and comfort the child. She embraced him in open arms pressing him up against her breasts as she smiled confidently. "There there child, we'll find your mother. Are you only alone here?", she asked in such a deceiving sweet tone. The child shook his head as his two siblings came for comfort as well. Altogether one female and two male. All looked to be around the age of six and were sobbing with such fright. The one eyed woman dressed in casual clothing stood up and held their hands as best she could with both hands. "Don't worry I've seen what your mommy looked like and I'm sure she went this way..", she convinced the trio to head into an alleyway near the park's entrance where she grinned happily for she presumed Gretel would take the candy trail left by yours truly. Taking a sharp turn into the dark alleyway their presence became scarce to the naked eye. It was quiet and most onlookers didn't react to her behavior oddly for she was a woman.

To the unsuspected souls, the trio of children where beheaded and shredded into pieces just like their mother and father in the alleyway she had lured them in. The smell was quite horrific but didn't cast out into the streets due to the enclosure of the alleyway. It was like any other alley, enough to fit a car through but there was a dead end. At the end of the alley where light hardly touched did the woman began feasting on the flesh and blood of the corpses. Her eyes polluted in crimson and the scleras pitch as black. Her mouth dripped of blood as she awaited for that man to follow her there, the confrontation had to occur. Her instincts picked up upon wanting it more than ever, to fight!!

Roan's sudden stop brought some looks, but that was not where his attention was drawn. While he stood, he scanned the faces while being careful not to linger too long to prolong any suspicion of an individual. His target would linger their gaze on him and that would be enough. The one who's eyes would remain on him before and after his eyes scanner over them, so long as he was not alerting in his stoic scan. It was difficult to tell, many parents who paid no attention, many children who looked for a moment or deliberately moved away. Some disdainful parents of his presence becoming more on edge, but the eyes followed the children until he found one with one eye.

Unfortunately, it was difficult for him to get a good image while having to keep his gaze moving, and with much conscious effort he managed not to return a lingering look. The girl's covering up of one of her eyes made it even more difficult to detect the gaze, but it was noticeable not down at the book she had been seeming to read before he had stopped. But, before Roan was able to gather his thoughts for a test, a child began to bawl abruptly near the one eyed woman which immediately pulled her attention to them, but gave a convenient excuse for the confirmation watch. Drawing them in and away rather than simply looking for the mother was suspicious enough now to go into action about it.

With awareness for his comparatively pathetic physicality, Roan was aware that he did not have the luxury of chances and that a lure, even for children, would likely lead him a place that served as an advantage to the Ghoul. Roan did not follow directly, only meandering behind her in an arcing pathway to continue avoiding suspicion and making a point to appear to consider turning the opposite direction to hopefully maintain an element of awareness further than his soon-to-be Quinque. Walking along shortly behind the woman and the children, Roan stopped himself a step away from the corner, out of sight while he pricked his ears and strained to listen. A Ghoul could easily kill before a scream, but eating was noisy and death came with a smell until eaten. Of both suspicions, Roan was quickly answered though once the alley had been chosen and the kids all taken in there had been little to doubt.

There were things needed to be done before he could really try to go for the win here, things he needed to know but were simple enough to work out, usually. To this avail Roan decided against charging into the darkness against a physically superior monster that ate his kind, but instead to use this opportunity to test the Ghoul instead. Removing his outer coat, leaving Roan less restricted in movement anyway, Roan rested the coat on the non-edged end of his briefcase-no-longer Quinque wide-blade. Stepping further to be exposed to the alley itself while already carving an arc through the air and dragging the large and light (thus detail) obscuring coat upward before falling back toward Roan's body, leaving the coat to glide above while Roan got his glimpses and pierced the side brick wall of the alley to his right with his blade's tip by several inches length-wise, the coat gently gliding down but a foot in front as Roan's own usually dull, staring, eyes took on a piercing look as focus mixed with adrenaline and his pupils adjustment to the lighting. Now gripping the Quinque's grip with both hands and stabilizing a stance. "Caught you, now be a good, big bad wolf and tell me everything you can do and how I'm not going to survive. You better not let me anyway, I might tell big brother that you've been dropping the kids at the pool after the teeth and stomach tour." Roan held back his nervousness by use of the joke, the rattling of Ghouls made them more excited, more aggressive, easier to counter. "I don't think he'd be too proud of that, do you?" Roan ending on a taunting tone. This had to be done right, most Doves he had seen die had been killed within the first thirty seconds...His heart pounded.
